Jeff Bentoff founded Bentoff Communications in 2003 and brings to the public affairs and media relations firm 20 years of experience as a newspaper reporter, spokesman to the mayor of Milwaukee, deputy chief of staff to the Milwaukee County executive, government lobbyist and corporate public affairs strategist.
Bentoff Communication’s clients have included AT&T Wisconsin, where Jeff was responsible for public affairs media relations and strategies for 10 years. Jeff served as the public affairs lead for the company in Wisconsin, handling strategic communications and media relations on government issues. He was responsible for AT&T Wisconsin legislative and regulatory communications, media strategy, issue development, some third-party relations, research and writing. He served as the company spokesman on government issues.
Jeff Bentoff was a co-founder of 88Nine RadioMilwaukee (WYMS-FM), and Bentoff Communications has provided media relations services to the station and other non-profits.
Before forming Bentoff Communications, Jeff held top positions in former Milwaukee Mayor John O. Norquist’s administration. He served as Norquist’s communications director and press secretary, economic policy coordinator for the Department of City Development and a registered state lobbyist for the City of Milwaukee.
Jeff also served as Milwaukee County Chris Abele’s deputy chief of staff, handling media relations and a number of policy issues.
Prior to his work for the City of Milwaukee, Jeff worked as full-time reporter at the daily Milwaukee Sentinel newspaper. His beats included Milwaukee County government, City of Milwaukee government, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, plans for Miller Park and Waukesha County courts, law enforcement and government.
Jeff is a former president of the Public Relations Society of America’s Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter and holds the group’s Accredited in Public Relations (APR).
